Super Bowl Sunday is near, and for all us arm-chair quarterbacks that means lots of food and drink. Keeping that in mind, we'll be pouring wines all weekend that come in large format bottles. Like many products (juice, perfume), bigger packages mean bigger savings, leaving that much more wine to go around. .

To kick it all off, please join us on Friday, from 5-7pm when we'll have all of the wines listed below open for tasting.  On Saturday and Sunday we'll have one or more of the wines open all day:

Franz Etz Gruner Veltliner 2010 (1 Liter) $15.00 - nothing goes better with crudite and salad than Gruner. One of our top sellers - for good reason. Citrus flavors, great acid and the hint of white pepper found almost exclusively in Gruner. Austria has made a name for its great wine in the US with the introduction of those cool-looking liter bottles. The wine can really go with just about anything - Versatile Veltliner.

Salvalai Pinot Grigio 2010 (1.5 Liter) $16.75 - great to sip before you begin your feast and will drink on throughout the day with snacks like chips with mild salsa, soft cheese and any kind of salty ham. Italy's gift to us which practically created the specific wine by the glass concept.

Yellow and Blue Malbec 2011 (1 Liter) $13.50 - the one that comes in the crazy box. Burgers, steaks - this one's for you. Don't let the box put you off; yes, it's better for the environment than bottles but that wouldn't matter if the wine didn't drink. Organic grapes fermented in stainless steel tanks produce a juicy dark fruit flavored Malbec, a wine Argentina is importing to the US in ever larger quantities.

Arboreto Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2010 (1.5 Liter) $14.00 - a simple, eminently quaffable wine, that really delivers the flavors you need to lift that slice to new levels of taste sensation. Boost that large vat of sauce you'll be simmering all day with some of this wine, plop sauce on pasta, sprinkle some parmesan, score a touchdown with a glass of this red.

We'll be delivering all weekend so when you run low on wine, we'll gallop over with more.
