Fattoria Carpineta Fontalpino Do ut Des Super Tuscan 2008

Carpineta Fontalpino has for the past 20 years been one of the leading producers in the southern part of the Chianti Classico region. The Montaperti area (next to Berardenga) is famous for producing very masculine, rustic and powerful Sangiovese.  This area held the famous battle between Siena and Florence which took place on the 4th of September 1260, where the Sienese kicked butt.
The wine falls into the Super Tuscan category as it contains two international varieties, along with the indigenous Sangiovese.
 

Full-bodied, dark red fruits, cassis, sweet spices, cocoa, caramel, violets, licorice and tobacco notes.
