Bodegas Argueso San Leon Manzanilla Classica NV 375ML

Founded in 1822 by Don Leon de Argueso, the company still operates from the original bodegas, which are now over 250 years old.
Manzanilla is a dry aperitif style sherry produced from Palomino grapes in the Atlantic coastal town of Sanlucar de Barrameda. After fermentation the wine is fortified to 15% alcohol and then barrel aged for at least six months. It is then transferred to a Solera where it is blended and aged for 9-10 years before bottling. During the aging process, manzanilla sherry is coated by an indigenous wild yeast known as flor, which protects it from oxidation and imparts a distinctive bready flavor.

Very dry, tangy, almost salty with aromas and flavors of nuts and cooked apples. Serve well chilled with olives, nuts, shellfish, ham or any salty appetizer.
