Stolichnaya's origin is linked to Moscow State Wine Warehouse No.1 which was opened in 1901 by authorities to ensure a high quality vodka production.  In 1953, Stolichnaya was introduced at the international trade show in Bern and received a gold medal.  Today, distilled from rye and wheat, it represents the classic benchmark for modern Russian vodka.
